LCHC Latine and Indigenous Promotores

Promotores play a vital role in advancing health equity for Latine and Indigenous communities by acting as trusted liaisons between healthcare systems and community members. These community leaders leverage their cultural competency, personal connections, and grassroots organizing skills to educate, advocate, and provide essential health services. By addressing social determinants of health, reducing barriers to care, and fostering trust within our diverse communities, promotores drive transformational change, empowering individuals and ensuring more equitable access to health & safety-net resources and information. Their work not only improves immediate health outcomes but also builds a sustainable health equity movement. At LCHC, our promotores not only receive key training through our Continuing Education program but they are also hired to directly practice their training through our Pasa La Voz program. LCHC’s promotores represent communities from the Bay area and Sacramento down through Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, making our impact statewide.

Pasa La Voz

Our Vision

The Pasa La Voz project aims to advance health equity by spreading awareness, education, and providing community resources to Latine and Indigenous families and individuals in a culturally informed manner.

Mobilizing Community Leaders

The LCHC Pasa La Voz Promotor program leverages Latine and Indigenous trust and communication networks across California. Our intergenerational promotores directly bridge government resources to the California Latine and Indigenous community, ensuring the successful uptake and implementation of safety net programs and policies. These policies and programs include but are not limited to MediCal, CalFresh, and ITIN. Ten LCHC promotores are contracted to conduct virtual and in-person education across 8 regions in California, in English, Spanish and Mixteco to over 135,000 community members. Through Pasa La Voz, the California Latine and Indigenous community: has access to life saving safety net programs, is supported in navigating government programs, and leverages trusted communication networks across the state.
